South Central Transit Authority is seeking an experienced Manager of Safety & Training for its Reading location, Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA). Position requires 3-5 yrs exp. in a transportation or related fields, union shop exp. helpful but not required, positive attitude and a strong work ethic required. Must possess & maintain or have the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid PA CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements. Excellent computer skills necessary, and customer service experience is required.
This position is responsible for assisting with the hiring of fixed route operators; training of fixed route and share ride operators; assisting with the implementation of drug and alcohol testing programs; accident investigation and analysis; coordination with insurance adjusters on accident claims; coordination of data collection; monitoring operator performance; and meeting the stated goals of the department. The position also serves as a backup dispatcher, and reports to the Director of Operations.
