PART-TIME DISPATCHER NEEDED

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking two part-time Dispatchers for its Reading office (Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority – BARTA).

SCTA is looking for reliable, customer-focused individuals to provide assistance and supervision to bus operators and passengers in support of BARTA’s daily transit operations. This position requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced transit environment.

Position Schedule

Dispatcher #1:

· Every Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

· Every other Sunday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (alternating with Dispatcher #2)

· Every other Monday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM (alternating with Dispatcher #2)

Dispatcher #2:

· Every Saturday: 5:30 PM – 12:30 AM

· Every other Sunday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (alternating with Dispatcher #1)

· Every other Monday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM (alternating with Dispatcher #1)

Approximately 15–20 hours per week, with additional hours available as needed for coverage and fill-in assignments.

Qualifications

· Excellent communication and customer service skills required

· Working knowledge of Berks County preferred

· Computer proficiency required

· Two-way radio communication experience a plus

· Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
