MARKETING COORDINATOR – Posted February 26, 2024

SCTA is seeking an individual who will work closely with the Director of Marketing who is responsible for all the marketing functions for BARTA, RRTA and SCTA. The Marketing Coordinator will assist the Director of Marketing in fulfilling all the activities approved by the SCTA Board in the Annual Marketing Plan for promoting the BARTA and RRTA services to the public. This position will provide project management, administrative and communications support for all the marketing efforts. This position is based out of the Reading office, but will be required to work out of the Lancaster office frequently.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist with the activities in the Marketing Plan, including the BE NICE Customer Service Program
• Assist with preparing written communications that include press releases, event detour announcements, schedule changes, customer procedures, special promotions, etc.
• Assist with updating and posting content on websites.
• Assist with monitoring and posting content on social media.
• Assist with posting content on digital monitors (external and internal).
• Help to develop and design external and internal marketing materials such as flyers/posters, maps.
• Assist with any marketing and advertising campaigns as needed.
• Assist with staffing Outreach Events when needed and any other special events.
• Assist other departments with communication, as needed.
• This position assists the Director of Marketing with promotional events that may require working outside the normal 8am-5pm weekday work hours and possible weekend events as well.
• This position works from both the Lancaster and Reading offices and needs the ability and means to travel to both locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Writing related field preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic is essential.
• Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public
• Computer skills including experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator mostly), proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Experience with Social Media Platforms (Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn)
• Experience with video and photography a plus
• Ability to be organized and work on multiple projects at the same time
• Team player with excellent organizational skills and who is self-directed.
• Ability to be flexible & juggle unplanned tasks needed done immediately
• Ability to meet deadlines and have good time management skills
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations in a timely manner

PART-TIME OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

SCTA is seeking an experienced Part-Time Operations Supervisor for its Reading location, Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA).  The position requires 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role, union shop experience helpful but not required, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.  Experience with Microsoft Office, tracking productivity, and customer service is also required.

Typical duties include on-road supervision of Transit Operators; Operator performance reviews; assistance with customer service; and writing and compiling reports related to department operations: position hours are flexible but will be 20-25 hours per week, 6am to noon, 3 days per week.

Applicant should possess organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.  CDL with P endorsement and air brake restriction lifted required within 9 months of hire (training provided).

FACILITIES TECH

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking an experienced Facilities Tech, which is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable and an efficient environment for employees and the public that is serviced by Berks Area Regional Transportation (BARTA) in Berks County and Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA) in Lancaster County. This position will work with various staff members and manage various vendors such as electricians, HVAC techs, plumbers, controls techs, etc.

• Manage contract work including snow removal, landscaping, cleaning, and HVAC.
• Perform general building maintenance duties including basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Maintain boilers manufacturer specifications and standard.
• Perform preventive maintenance in conjunction with all building maintenance and/or cleanliness relate items.
• Maintain responsibility for all facility maintenance including HVAC equipment, plumbing and minor electrical repairs.
• Purchase supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects and inventory.
• Move and/or lift items such as ladders, tools, cable, test equipment and other objects weighing up to 100 pounds
• Analyze general cleanliness at the facility.
• Support and supervision for outside contractors providing new electrical and HVAC installations.
• Facilities are across Lancaster and Berks County
