CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking a caring, team-oriented individual who is also motivated and self-starting for the current opening of Full-Time Customer Service Representative. This position is for its Shared Ride Division located in Reading, PA.

If you enjoy talking to people and want to go home every day knowing you made a difference in someone’s life, then this is the position for you.

SCTA is seeking a qualified candidate that is able to deal effectively with the public both in person and on the telephone in a fast-paced environment.  The position requires excellent computer, telephone, and clerical skills. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are preferred, but not required.

This position will work a total of 40 hours a week, Mon. – Fri. 8:30am to 5:30pm. SAFETY and TRAINING MANAGER – LANCASTER

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking an experienced Safety and Training Manager for its Lancaster location, Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA). General responsibility is the training of operators for Lancaster County; manage the accident/incident claims processing; monitoring operator performance: and assist in meeting the stated goals of the department.

  1. Responsible for initial instruction of all RRTA vehicle operators and monitoring the on-going training program. This includes all re-training and annual training requirements in accordance with state or federal laws in conjunction with SCTA policy.
  2. Responsible for assisting in the supervision of all RRTA vehicle operators on a daily basis. This includes on-street supervision of all operators, supervising their schedules, driving skills, the maintaining of scheduled routes, and required reports.
  3. Responsible for the management of the claim process. This includes the submission and processing of claims under the Worker’s Compensation and Property and Liability plans for the Authority, including coordinating with the Authority insurance provider in the filing of claims.
  4. Responsible for working with the drug and alcohol program compliance and administration for RRTA.
  5. Assist in the audit of any 3rd party contractor as required by state or federal laws in accordance with SCTA policy.
  6. Responsible for managing the monitoring and maintaining of up to date records for all RRTA operators regarding the safety program.
  7. Responsible for assisting the Chief Safety Officer and Director of Operations with the review and administration in security and safety of Authority vehicles, buildings and grounds.
  8. Responsible for managing the uniform program for all operators. This includes tracking all employee assigned allotments and pending orders with vendors.
  9. Responsible for maintaining the database on required Employee Physicals and License Expirations. Also responsible for processing annual review of driving records for all RRTA employees.
  10. Responsible for managing the operator performance reports to department heads in a timely manner as needed.
  11. This position requires the coordination with department heads as necessary to complete tasks.
  12. Responsible for overseeing the training of new RRTA employees in getting their Commercial Driving Licenses and required endorsements.
  13. As needed, this position will provide back up to the Lancaster dispatchers.

PART-TIME OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking an experienced Part-Time Operations Supervisor for its Reading location, Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA).  The position requires 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role, union shop experience helpful but not required, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.  Experience with Microsoft Office, tracking productivity, and customer service is also required.

Typical duties include on-road supervision of Transit Operators; Operator performance reviews; assistance with customer service; and writing and compiling reports related to department operations: position hours are flexible but will be 20-25 hours per week, 6am to noon, 3 days per week.

Applicant should possess organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.  CDL with P endorsement and air brake restriction lifted required within 9 months of hire (training provided).
