South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking an experienced Facilities Tech, which is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable and an efficient environment for employees and the public that is serviced by Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) in Berks County and Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA) in Lancaster County. This position will work with various staff members and manage various vendors such as electricians, HVAC techs, plumbers, controls techs, etc.

Marketing Coordinator – Posted 8/8/2023

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to assist the SCTA Director of Marketing with the marketing duties for Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) and Red Rose Transit Authority (RRTA) BARTA and RRTA are the local public transit systems in Berks and Lancaster Counties.  This is a newly created position that will help assist the Director of Marketing in fulfilling all the activities approved by the SCTA Board in the Annual Marketing Plan.  This position will provide project management, administrative and communications support for all the marketing efforts.

Requirements for the position:  Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.  Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service skills, experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign & Illustrator), experience with managing social media platforms, ability to manage and multi-task several projects simultaneously, experience with photography and videography a plus.

Part-Time Dispatcher – Posted 8/2/2023

South Central Transit Authority (SCTA) is seeking a part-time dispatcher for its Reading office (Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority – BARTA), 1700 North 11th Street, Reading, PA.  SCTA is seeking a reliable part-time dispatcher to provide assistance and supervision to bus drivers and customers in support of BARTA’s daily transit operations. Approx. 15-20 hours a week (Saturday 9 AM – 5PM, Every Other Sunday 9 AM – 5PM; and Monday  9 AM – 5 PM).

Must demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills and also have a working knowledge of Berks County.  Computer skills and two-way radio communications experience a plus.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
