Managing BARTA & RRTA public transit services in Berks County & Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
TDP ’23 Summary of Activities
3rd Round of Public Meetings for Customer and Community Input
SCTA held a third round of public outreach events to present the final draft recommendations of potential service improvements for both BARTA and RRTA. The draft recommendations are based on a comprehensive analysis of existing services and feedback received from riders and non-riders during previous rounds of public outreach. The feedback received will be used to help finalize SCTA’s Transit Development Plan (TDP), which will guide service improvements for the next five years and beyond. Below are links to the presentation and recordings of the virtual sessions given at the public meetings.

The consultants working on the Transit Development Plan provided scenarios about service change ideas for both BARTA and RRTA at the end of August and beginning of September. A survey was available for the public to provide what they liked and didn’t like about the scenario ideas. The survey was available for a month. The consultants have taken time to compile all the survey comments and create an updated final scenario for consideration. A third public meeting will be scheduled in December.
If you have questions about any of the scenarios and want more explanation or clarification, please reach out to Lauri Ahlskog, SCTA’s Manager of Transit Planning & Compliance, lahlskog@sctapa.com.
